12:01AM - check it out.

he end result of this is that I had to find ways to have delicious and healthy breakfasts without much effort in the morning. I want stuff that’s good for me, but that I can just yank out and prepare extremely quickly when I need it before I get going. Time is of the essence, but health and flavor are also important, and I also want it to be cheap. Are all of these things possible?

Luckily, I’m a food nut. Here are four recipes for breakfasts that you can largely prepare in advance so that when you’re busy in the morning, they can be easily prepared. Some of them are quite healthy and others are less so, but they’re all convenient and quick.

Swiss Breakfast

The default recipe for Swiss Breakfast (that’s what my friend calls it anyway) makes about six servings and is as follows:

4 cups oats
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup almonds, sliced
1/2 cup dried apricots, chopped
1/2 cup sunflower seeds w/o shells
4 dates, chopped
1/2 cup dried cranberries
Ziploc bags (for storage)

Just mix all of this stuff up together and put it into baggies, with about 3/4 cup of the mix in each. What I generally do is buy a tub of oats, then get proportionate amounts of the rest of the stuff so I can make a ton of baggies. Then I bag up the meals and put the baggies back into the oat container, which allows me to grab out a baggie whenever I want one. This stuff is all dried, so the baggies will store for a very long time and be just fine in the cupboard.

When you pull out a baggie, just pour it in a bowl, put about a cup and a half of skim milk on top, stir it a bit, then microwave it for about three minutes on high (covered, of course). This number might vary depending on your microwave, and you can also vary the milk to taste. I usually slice up some fruit on top, but that’s not required.

Banana Bread

We love eating bananas, but often a few of them will get overly ripe on us and the skin begins to turn dark brown. That doesn’t mean it’s time to throw them out - it means it’s time for banana bread! All you need is a loaf pan.

2 cups flour (I vastly prefer white flour for this recipe, but whole wheat works)
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter (considering the amount of butter that’s actually in each slice, this isn’t much)
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs, beaten
4 overripe bananas, mashed

Use a very tiny amount of the butter to grease down a 9″ by 5″ bread loaf pan. Heat the oven to 350 F. Mix together the butter and brown sugar (a mixer works well for this, on low), then add eggs and mashed bananas until it’s all gooey and consistent. Add the rest of the ingredients, then stir just a bit more until it’s largely consistent. Pour the mix in the pan, stick it in the oven for about an hour, and you’re good. The ol’ toothpick test works to see if it’s done - slide in a toothpick in the middle and if it comes out clean and smooth, you’re good. Take it out, slice off some slices, and put the rest in a big Ziploc bag in the freezer.

I usually pull out the loaf in the evening from the freezer, then slice pieces in the morning for breakfast. I like it plain - some put butter on it and warm it up. Then just pop it back in the freezer.

Breakfast Burritos

A while back, I mentioned a early, less healthy form of this recipe. Here’s what I’m currently using:

2 pounds of cured smoked sausage, cubed or 2 pounds of soyrizo (the last batch I did was a pound of each)
4 medium onions, diced
2 bell peppers, diced
2 tomatoes, diced
2 pounds of shredded cheese (fat free cheese works just fine for this, or you can skip it)
16 eggs
32 big flour tortillas (10″ ones work well)
1 jar of picante sauce
Saran wrap or Ziploc freezer bags (for packing)

Cut up the meat and vegetables and split it into four separate equal batches. Crack all sixteen eggs, blend them so the yolk is even, then separate this into four equal batches. Saute a batch of meat and veggies for about ten minutes (if you’re using soyrizo, you may want to cook it just a bit first before the veggies), then add a batch of the eggs and stir regularly until the eggs are cooked. Each small batch here makes eight burritos, so spoon some of the egg/veggie/meat mix onto a tortilla shell, put some cheese and a bit of picante sauce on top, then fold it up and wrap it in Saran wrap. Toss the finished burritos in the freezer. I can make 32 burritos in about an hour and a half following this process.

When you pull out a burrito, unwrap it, put it on a saucer, and microwave it for about two minutes from frozen.

Cherry Muffins

One fun Sunday activity is making muffins. The only tools you’ll need are some paper muffin cups, a muffin pan, a bowl, and a spoon. Oh yes, and food:

1 1/2 cups flour (white or whole wheat, whatever you prefer)
1 cup rolled oats
3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup light brown sugar
2 eggs
6 tablespoons butter
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
3/4 cup buttermilk (low fat is fine here)
1 1/2 cups coarsely chopped cherries (frozen or fresh, about 8 ounces)
Saran wrap (for packing)

Melt the butter. Mix the eggs until consistent and add the vanilla and butter to the eggs and mix. Mix together all of the dry ingredients (besides the cherries) in a bowl. Mix in all of the moist ingredients into the dry ones (besides the cherries) until it’s consistent. Mix in the cherries. Put muffin cups in your pan, then pour in batter until it’s just below the top of the cup. Heat oven to 375 F and bake for about 22 minutes. To make sure they’re done, press the top of the muffin and see if it feels like a muffin (springs back a bit when pushed down, not gooey at all but moist). Then wrap them individually in Saran wrap and toss the ones you won’t eat in the next day or two in the freezer.

If you want to enjoy a muffin or two for breakfast, just pull it out of the freezer the night before and let it sit in the refrigerator overnight. You might also want to microwave it just a bit if you like warm muffins.

In short, breakfast can be convenient, tasty, healthy, and inexpensive if you’re willing to put in just a bit of effort in your spare time.

lets try it.

Do grocery only once per week. The above trick was great, but by itself, it had a flaw. In my hurry to get out of the grocery store, I would forget to pick up some of the things. So I had to make either a second trip to the grocery store, or pick it up at the closest gas station for about three times the price (those *#$@ crooks!!!). So I made a second rule – groceries would be done only once per week. If I forgot to pick something, I would just have to live without it until the next week. Slowly, I started to build an emergency supply of canned tomatoes, coffee creamer etc. And my grocery lists started being updated on time. Combined with the above trick, this not only helped me save a lot of money, but save a lot of time too!
===========

I don't wear makeup.
I use shampoo and conditioner, and it's Suave on sale. No hairspray, gels, shelacs, etc.
I use my library for books and movies.
Cooking meals at home instead of eating out.
As often as possible I use compact fluorescent light bulbs.
I stay out of thrift stores. I found that I was coming home with tons of crap because it was "cheap", but each "cheap" item adds up monetarily and in clutter.
I shop at thrift stores, but usually take at least 5 things out of my cart before I pay.
I don't buy from the vending machine at work. Even ignoring the issues with sugar and fats, you could buy 5 times as much of the same product at the grocery store.
I use the internet to review an item's quality and price before I make a purchase.

I cut my dryer sheets into quarters. The box lasts four times as long and a quarter works just fine.
I try not to wash dishes under running water. Filling the sink saves water and soap. (Although I do get lazy and cheat).

I don't go to movies unless it's something really worth watching on the big screen. The last one I saw in a theater was King Kong, and yes, it was worth it. Before that, it was the Incredible Hulk, and no, it wasn't.

I pay myself first every month. 10% of my income goes straight into savings, and it stays there except for emergencies.
I cancelled my vision insurance through work. I can get an eye exam for the co-pay at Kaiser, and take my 'script to a one hour lens place and still come out ahead. When I added up my premium, coverage limits, and co-pays, it just wasn't worth keeping it.

My husband gets all of his work shirts for free from vendors. Considering how quickly they get ripped or dirty, it's worth it.
I'm not a fashionista. Worrying too much about what your clothes look like is expensive. I'm clean and appropriate, and that's all that matters.
Eat leftovers for lunch.
I buy yeast for breads at Vitamin Cottage where it's 60 cents a pound versus those small packets at the regular store, where it runs $3 for 6 teaspoons.

I take light rail to school. It's an unlimited pass, mandatory with my student fees, and parking on campus is $3.50 and up.
I mostly use vinegar and water for cleaning. I mix in eucalyptis oil, but the vinegar smell only lasts a minute and there's no chemicals to give me a headache. I use an old product spray bottle that was completely cleaned out.
If something breaks, I get opinions from friends and family before shelling out cash for repairs. Sometimes someone else knows how to fix it. (usually my dad)
I track every expense on Quicken. If I don't, I lose track and end of overdrafting, which comes off our credit card. The interest rate is horrible, and every time it costs $10, regardless of how much or little we were short.
I ignore cosmetic damage to my car as long as possible.

I compost. It cuts down on trash and in a few months, I'll have good rich material for my garden beds.
We bought a swamp cooler this summer instead of air conditioning. Installation for a regular whole house unit installed on the roof would have been in excess of $3,000. Instead we bought a $400 portable unit like people use in workshops. It cools up to 1,000 square feet, and our house is less than 800 square feet. In the winter we'll store it in the basement. I know you people back east can't imagine actually wanting humidity, but out here it's a blessing!

Groceries

Shop wholesale whenever possible. (E.g. Costco, Sams Club etc)

Split membership charges to wholesale clubs. Eg.: Costco, Sams Club etc, allow you to share your membership with another member of your “family”

Buy generic store brand products to shave a few dollars off your grocery bill.

Stock up on non-perishable groceries, if available at discounted prices.

Plan meals out before buying groceries and stick to what you need.

If your grocery store offers loyalty/club cards, use them. Generally, they are free to get, but you will be privy to special savings prices.

Shopping

Avoid buying clothes that require dry cleaning!

Buy at least some of your stuff from garage sales/consignment stores/thrift stores/dollar stores etc.

Buy clothes at the end of season, when they are usually deep discounted.

Never buy anything at full price. Whatever it is you want, it WILL go on sale sometime.

Avoid impulse buying.

Comparison shop. Don’t buy something unless (a) you really need it and (b) you are getting it for the lowest price possible.

Start holiday shopping WAY in advance. Buy gifts whenever you find a good sale. This will prevent you from paying full price at the last minute and also will make sticking to holiday budget easier.

If formal events are rare in your life, rent that tux, prom dress etc.

If you don’t need to, then don’t pay for software. There is a lot of open source software available out there.

Buy “open stock items” for big ticket electronics. They are generally deep discounted.

Auto

Don’t exceed speed limit. Speeding tickets are a luxury for the rich and stupid :)

Find the best speed to drive you car for the best fuel economy. For most sedans it is supposed to be 60mph (Disclaimer: I’m not an automobile engineer)

Slow down if you notice the light turning red instead of speeding to the traffic light and then jamming the breaks.

Buy the lowest octane gasoline recommended for the engine of your car.

Check the pressure in your tires regularly – improves fuel economy.

Buy only how much car you need for your every day use. For those rare occasions of large family get-togethers’, rent! Same for the itch to drive a fancy sports car.

Carpool if/when possible.

Drive your car until the wheels fall off. Then go out and buy another pre-owned car.

Set a rapport with a mechanic. Avoid the big chains (firestone, aamco etc) like the plague.

Utilities and Services

Use a space heater (in winter) and a fan (in summer), if you have a big house but use only few rooms.

Use energy saving bulbs to save electricity.

Check the number of bulbs you have in your bathroom. If you don’t need as many, unscrew some of them and save on electricity.

When not in a room, turn the light and fan off.

When not watching, turn the TV off.

When not using computer turn it off. If not the computer, at least switch off the monitor or put it in auto-power-off setting.

Fix leaky faucets immediately.

Switch off water while brushing teeth, washing face etc.

If using water for a very short time, use the cold water faucet instead of the hot water faucet.

Turn off the automatic settings on your sprinkler system when it rains.

If replacing appliances or windows at home, buy energy-saving appliances (your city council may even give you cash-back rebates for doing this.) If replacing toilets or shower heads, go for low-flow products.

Sign only for one year contracts on cell phones. That way you can get a new phone every year. Try to make some money from cell phone rebates.

If you have a cell phone, get rid of the land line.

Share broadband wireless access with neighbors.

Watch for opportunities to negotiate. Most businesses in the services sector have enough competition, that they will be willing to consider your offer. (Eg. cable, Phone etc)

Periodically revisit your recurring bills such as phone, cable, dvd club membership etc. to find if there are any new deals of competition available.

Food

Pack lunch instead of going out.

Brew your own coffee, unless going to the coffee house helps build your social or career network.

Don’t buy cookbooks. Look up recipes on the net!

Eat out sparingly. (Personal opinion: If you try to completely stop eating out, you might start to hate cooking and end up eating out too much. )

If eating out, share meals if possible. Or doggy bag the leftovers for next days lunch.

If eating out, check if the restaurant has already included “automatic gratuities” in your bill. (If not, please leave a tip – being frugal is NOT the same as being cheap)

If eating out with family, look for places with family meal deals or kids-eat-free etc.

If eating out, try to forego the soda and stick to water.

If eating in, make sure it’s healthy. Cheap frozen/canned alternatives to cooking may save you money now, but will cost you a lot in doctor’s bills in future.

If eating in, plan meals ahead of time to avoid, “What shall I cook… hmmm… hmmm… hmmm….. heck, lemme just eat out”.

Bottle your own water. Invest in a good filter if necessary. If not, buy cheap distilled water at the grocery store by the gallon.

Credit cards and Banking

Don’t use credit cards that charge annual fees. There are more than enough no-fee cards to choose from.

Don’t use bank accounts that charge for checking, monthly fees etc.

Keep only as much as you need (+ a small buffer) in the checking account. Keep the rest in saving accounts (preferably high-yield savings account)

Avoid ATM fees. If the ATM for your bank is not close by, remember, several grocery stores offer cash back if you use debit card for purchase, without extra fees.

Pay your bills on time. Late fees are such a drag!

If you are disciplined, use credit cards for all your purchases. This can give you valuable rewards, and prevent you from wasting those 18 cents after paying for a $2.72 purchase.

Mortgage

If you are still stuck with a high mortgage rate, refinance.

Try to pay 20% down payment for the house and avoid the PMI. If paying PMI keep track of when your equity in the house crosses 20% and call to get the PMI cancelled.

If using bi-weekly mortgage payment, check if you are being charged a fee. You can manually get the benefit of bi-weekly payment without having to pay the fees.

Entertainment

Don’t buy magazines at full price! Search online for free/cheap subscriptions. (Eg. I paid $5 per year average for TIME subscription for past few years).

Lose the news paper. Get your news from TV and Internet.

Look for dollar theatres in your area. They are older cinema halls and usually play around 2 month old movies – but @ $1 - $2.50 a ticket, they are a bargain!

Go to the cinema on a full stomach. You won’t be tempted to buy pop corn, soda etc.

Buy movie tickets ahead of time in Costco for lower than the box office rates.

Buy books at half price. Better still, borrow it from the public library.

Travel

Look for consolidator fares (eg. mobissimo, kayak, etc) while booking airfare, hotel or car rental.

Be flexible with dates, if possible, while traveling. Weekday departure/returns with Saturday night stay could save you a bunch of money.

Never pay for a travel alarm – use your cell phone or wake-up call service.

Don’t buy a travel iron box – some hotels have an iron box in every room and in others, you can request one at the front desk.

DIY

Do your own laundry and ironing.

DIY your lawn care, taxes, house cleaning, car wash etc.

DIY small projects around the house or car maintenance (ex. Fence mending, oil/filter change etc.)

Rent expensive tools for DIY projects instead of purchasing them. Home depot, lowes, autozone all have programs for renting tools.

If you must pay for service, look on your local craigslist or local news paper ads to find individuals rather than bigger companies to do it for you. Companies have higher overhead and tend to charge higher.

Reuse

Use back side of used printouts for “to-do” lists instead of buying post-it notes.

Use old t-shirts as dish rags for mopping, car cleaning etc.

Don’t buy garbage bags. Recycle your grocery bags instead.

Kids

Get baby sitters only if absolutely necessary. Rest of the times, have arrangement with other parents for sharing play dates.

Always carry a kid’s snack bag from home. Vending machines charge you way more than the grocery store.

Set up family game nights to avoid expensive outings.

Pets

Use old comforters for pet beds.

Never pay full price for pet toys. They are after all, chew toys.

Make money on the side

Sell your old books, junk in the attic etc., on ebay.

Alternately, get together with friends to hold periodic yard sales.

See if you can monetize your hobby. Maybe there’s an artist or an entrepreneur hiding in you.

Rent out the basement (or the guest room), if possible.

Sell you old cell phone on ebay or cellforcash.com

Common Sense, Other tricks, etc (a.ka. Things that don’t fall in other categories)

Use coupons if/when possible.

Use public resources (transportation, libraries, wifi hotspots etc.)

Keep a coin jar in your changing room (walk-in closet, dressing room or bathroom etc) and save your pennies. Cash them at coinstar or your local bank.

Share an apartment with a roommate, if possible.

Never pay for a clock – several appliances around the house display time (eg, microwave, tv cable box, thermostat ets), not to forget all computers, laptops, cell phones etc.

Whenever possible, "Fix it" (or get it fixed), instead of "Replace it".

Quit smoking.

Pay your bills online – save on stamps.

If you are going to spend time only on a thread mill anyway, cancel that gym membership and jog around your neighborhood.

If you donate money to charity, get receipts and claim tax break.

Remember, charity does not necessarily mean you have to give money. Consider donating your time instead.

Some outrageous ones: Grow your own vegetables, stay married - alimony is expensive, dont have kids etc :)

--------------------------------

Simplifying can sometimes be overwhelming. The amount of stuff you have in your life and the amount of things you have to do can be too big a mountain to tackle.

But you don’t have to simplify it all at once. Do one thing at a time, and take small steps. You’ll get there, and have fun doing it.

In fact, you can do little but important things today to start living the simple life.
I was criticized a few weeks ago when I published the Simple Living Manifesto: 72 Ideas to Simplify Your Life, because many people felt the list was too long. I heard this point, and this post is my response: just the 10 most important things.

And these are not 10 difficult things, but 10 simple things that you can do today. Not tomorrow, not next week, not next month. Today. Choose one and do it today. Tomorrow, choose another.

If you do these 10 things, you’ll have made great strides with little effort.

1. Make a short list. Take out a sheet of paper and fold it into a small square, perhaps 3×5 inches. Or take out an index card. Now make a short list of the 4-5 most important things in your life. What’s most important to you? What do you value most? What 4-5 things do you most want to do in your life? Simplifying starts with these priorities, as you are trying to make room in your life so you have more time for these things.

2. Drop 1 commitment. Think about all the things in your life that you’re committed to doing, and try to find one that you dread doing. Something that takes up time but doesn’t give you much value. Perhaps you’re on a team, or coaching something, or on a board or committee, or whatever. Something that you do each day or week or month that you don’t really want to do. Now take action today to drop that commitment. Call someone, send an email, telling the appropriate person or people that you just don’t have the time. You will feel relief. I’d recommend dropping all commitments that don’t contribute to your short list (from Item #1), but for today, just drop 1 commitment.

3. Purge a drawer. Or a shelf, or a countertop, or a corner of a room. Not an entire room or even an entire closet. Just one small area. You can use that small area as your base of simplicity, and then expand from there. Here’s how to purge: 1) empty everything from the drawer or shelf or corner into a pile. 2) From this pile, pick out only the most important things, the stuff you use and love. 3) Get rid of the rest. Right now. Trash it, or put it in your car to give away or donate. 4) Put the stuff you love and use back, in a neat and orderly manner.

4. Set limits. Read Haiku Productivity for more. Basically, you set limits for things you do regularly: email, RSS posts, tasks, feeds, items in your life, etc. And try to stick with the limits. Today, all you have to do is set limits for a few things in your life. Tomorrow, try to stick with them.

5. Simplify your to-do list. Take a look at your to-do list. If it’s more than 10 items long, you can probably simplify it a bit. Try to find at least a few items that can be eliminated, delegated, automated, outsourced, or ignored. Shorten the list. This is a good habit to do once a week.

6. Free up time. Simplifying your life in general is a way to free up time to do the stuff you want to do. Unfortunately, it can be hard to find time to even think about how to simplify your life. If that’s the case, free up at least 30 minutes a day for thinking about simplifying. Or alternatively, free up a weekend and think about it then. How can you free up 30 minutes a day? Just a few ideas: wake earlier, watch less TV, eat lunch at your desk, take a walk for lunch, disconnect from the Internet, do email only once today, shut off your phones, do 1 less thing each day.

7. Clear your desk. I can personally attest to the amazing feeling that a clean desk can give you. It’s such a simple thing to do, and yet it does so much for you. If your desk is covered with papers and notes and gadgets and office supplies, you might not be able to get this done today. But here are the basic steps: 1) Clear everything off your desk and put it in a pile (either in your inbox or on the floor). 2) Process the pile from top to bottom, one item at a time. Do not defer decisions on any item — deal with them immediately and quickly. 3) For each item, either file it immediately, route it to someone else, trash it, or note it on your to-do list (and put it in an “action” folder). If it’s a gadget or office supply, find a place for it in your desk drawers (or get rid of it). 4) Repeat until your pile is empty and your desk is clear. Be sure to get rid of any knick knacks. Your desk should have your computer, your inbox, perhaps a notepad, and maybe a family photo (but not many). Ahh, a clear desk! 5) From now on, put everything in your inbox, and at least once a day, process it in the same way as above.

8. Clear out your email inbox. This has the same psychological effect as a clear desk. Is your email inbox always full of read and unread messages? That’s because you’re delaying decisions on your emails. If you have 50, let’s say, or fewer emails in your inbox, you can process them all today. If you have hundreds, you should put them in a temporary folder and get to them one chunk at a time (do 20 per day or something). Here’s how you process your inbox to empty — including emails already in your inbox, and all future incoming emails: 1) process them top to bottom, one at a time, deciding and disposing of each one immediately. 2) Your choices are to delete, archive, respond immediately (and archive or delete), forward (and archive or delete), or mark it with a star (or something like that) and note it on your to-do list to respond to later (and archive). 3) Process each email like that until the inbox is empty. 4) Each time you check your email, process to empty. Ahh, an empty inbox!

9. Move slower. We rush through the day, from one task to another, from one appointment to another, until we collapse on the couch, exhausted, at the end of the day. Instead, simplify your life by doing less (see Items 1, 4 and 5) and doing them more slowly. Eat slower, drive slower, walk slower, shower slower, work slower. Be more deliberate. Be present. This isn’t something you’re going to master today, but you can start practicing today.

10. Single-task. Instead of multi-tasking, do one thing at a time. Remove all distractions, resist any urge to check email or do some other habitual task like that while you’re doing the task at hand. Stick to that one task, until you’re done. It’ll make a huge difference in both your stress level and your productivity.

can’t claim that my home is completely minimalist, but it surely isn’t cluttered, and most people I know would call it a pretty minimalist home.

One recent visitor saw my kitchen and remarked, “I’ve never seen a kitchen that looked so clean, so clear of stuff!” Well, I do my best to keep it clean, but the key is to remove the unnecessary stuff.

For example, on the floor of my kitchen/dining room area are just a few essentials: dining table (clear of any clutter), chairs, some counter stools, a high chair, a step stool for the kids. On the counters are only the toaster, coffee maker and microwave.

Is this kind of minimalist home devoid of character and fun and life? Some might think so, but I get a strange satisfaction, a fulfillment, at looking around and seeing a home free of clutter. It’s calming, and liberating, and just nice.

Benefits of a Minimalist Home
I could probably go on for awhile about this, but let me just list a few key benefits:

Less stressful. Clutter is a form of visual distraction, and everything in our vision pulls at our attention at least a little. The less clutter, the less visual stress we have. A minimalist home is calming.
More appealing. Think about photos of homes that are cluttered, and photos of minimalist homes. The ones with almost nothing in them except some beautiful furniture, some nice artwork, and a very few pretty decorations, are the ones that appeal to most of us. You can make your home more appealing by making it more minimalist.
Easier to clean. It’s hard to clean a whole bunch of objects, or to sweep or vacuum around a bunch of furniture. The more stuff you have, the more you have to keep clean, and the more complicated it is to clean around the stuff. Think about how easy it is to clean an empty room compared to one with 50 objects in it. That’s an extreme example, of course, as I wouldn’t recommend you have an empty room, but it’s just to illustrate the difference.
What a Minimalist Home Looks Like
This would vary, of course, depending on your taste and how extreme of a minimalist you want to be. I am a minimalist, but not to any extreme. But here are some characteristics of a minimalist home:

Minimal furniture. A minimalist room would only contain a few essential pieces of furniture. A living room, for example, might only have a couch, another chair or love seat, a coffee table, a minimalist entertainment stand (not a huge one with a bunch of shelves), a television, and a couple of lamps. It could even contain less (couch, chairs, and coffee table, for example). A bedroom might have a simple bed (or even just a mattress), a dresser, and perhaps a night stand or book shelf.
Clear surfaces. In a minimalist home, flat surfaces are clear, except for one or two decorations (see next item). There are not a whole bunch of knick knacks, and definitely not stacks of books or papers or other items.
Accent decorations. A home completely clear of things would be a bit boring, actually. So instead of having a coffee table completely free of any objects, you could have a simple vase with a few flowers, for example. Or a clear desk might just have a family photo. An otherwise empty wall might have a tasteful piece of art (I use my dad’s artwork, as he’s a great artist).
Quality over quantity. Instead of having a lot of stuff in your home, a minimalist would choose just a few really good things he loves and uses often. A really nice table, for example, is better than 5 pieces of press-board furniture.
Examples. The photo at the top of this post is a nice example of a minimalist home (it’s not my home, but I wish it were). See more photos of that lovely home. Traditional-style Japanese homes are another great example of minimalism, as is this nice spread.
How to Create a Minimalist Home
There are actually no set steps to making your home minimalist, except to change your philosophy and shoot for the ideals in the previous section above. But here are some tips that I would offer to anyone trying to shoot for minimalism:

One room at a time. Unless you’re just moving into a place, it’s hard to simplify an entire house at once. Focus on one room, and let that be your center of calm. Use it to inspire you to simplify the next room, and the next. Then do the same outside!
Start with furniture. The biggest things in any room are the furniture, so you should always begin simplifying a room by looking at the furniture. The fewer pieces of furniture, the better (within reason, of course). Think of which furniture can be eliminated without sacrificing comfort and livability. Go for a few pieces of plain, simple furniture (example of a minimalist coffee table) with solid, subdued colors.
Only the essentials. Whether looking at your furniture or anything else in the room, ask yourself if the item is truly essential. If you can live without it, get it out. Try to strip the room down to its essentials — you can always add a few choice items beyond the essentials later.
Clear floors. Except for the furniture, your floors should be completely clear. Nothing should clutter the floor, nothing should be stacked, nothing should be stored on the floor. Once you’ve gotten your furniture down to the bare essentials, clear everything else on the floor — either donate it, trash it, or find a place for it out of sight.
Clear surfaces. Same thing with all flat surfaces. Don’t have anything on them, except one or two simple decorations (See Tip 9 below). Donate, trash or find an out-of-sight storage spot for everything else. It will make everything much, much more minimal-looking.
Clear walls. Some people hang all kinds of stuff on their walls. No can do in a minimalist home. Clear your walls except for one or two simple pieces of nice artwork (see Tip 8 below).
Store stuff out of sight. This has been mentioned in the above tips, but you should store everything you need out of sight, in drawers and cabinets. Bookshelves can be used to store books or DVDs or CDs, but shouldn’t have much else except a few simple decorations (not whole collections of things).
Declutter. If you are clearing flat surfaces and the floor, and storing stuff in cabinets and drawers, you’ll probably want to declutter your storage areas too. You can do this in a later stage if you want. See How to Declutter for more.
Simple artwork. To keep a room from being boring, you can put a simple painting, drawing or photo, framed with a subdued, solid color, on each wall if you want. Leave some walls bare if possible.
Simple decorations. As mentioned in the above tips, one or two simple decorations can serve as accents for a minimalist room. A vase of flowers or a small potted plant are two classic examples. If the rest of your room has subdued colors, your accents could use a bright color (such as red, or yellow) to draw the eye and give a plain room a splash of energy.
Plain window treatments. Bare windows, or simple, solid colored curtains, or simple, wooden blinds are good. Too much ornate stuff around the windows is clutter.
Plain patterns. Solid colors are best for floor coverings (if you have any), furniture, etc. Complex patterns, such as flowers or checkers, are visual clutter.
Subdued colors. As mentioned in Tip 9 above, you can have a splash of bright color in the room, but most of the room should be more subtle colors - white is classic minimalist, but really any solid colors that don’t stress the eyes is good (earth colors come to mind, such as blues, browns, tans, greens).
Edit and eliminate. When you’ve simplified a room, you can probably do more. Give it a couple of days, then look at everything with a fresh eye. What can be eliminated? Stored out of sight? What’s not essential? You can come back to each room every few months, and sometimes you’ll discover things you can simplify even more.
Place for everything. I’ve discussed this in other posts, but in a minimalist house, it’s important that you find a place for everything, and remember where those places are. Where does you blender go? Give it a spot, and stick with it. Aim for logical spots that are close to where the thing is used, to make things more efficient, but the key is to designate a spot.
Sit back, relax, and enjoy. Once you’ve simplified a room, take a moment to look around and enjoy it. It’s so peaceful and satisfying. This is the reward for your hard work. Ahhhh. So nice!

5:17AM - whats on your mind?

Wednesday August 15th 2007
Time {10:22 pm}
Location [Erie, Pa]
Listening to | n/a |

SO, about Pennsylvania.

“I have found the paradox, that if you love until it hurts, there can be no more hurt, only more love.”

-Mother Teresa

The three or so months I have spent here have been pretty great. For a while, I didn’t like being here. It sucked because I had no one to hang out with, but its not like I had many people to hang out with in Michigan :P when I finally figured out how to use my time productively (such as going to Presque isle with mom, going to the gym, and reading) the time seemed to pass better.

Erie, is always interesting. Things happen here, that you could never possibly make up! Like having block parties every week, or driving 15 minutes to go to down town (the entire town is a 15 minute drive from one side to the other…) going to a farm to see a battle of the bands….meeting people like, cutie pants pierceist Patrick. Or, andy, silly Buddhist that has many words, but hardly calls. Or the crazy people I meet at work.

Finally getting hired at sams club wasn’t a bad job. Even though the people are a breed all their own here in Erie, they are nice. The job flew by, I was hired, and now (today was my last day! Praise GOD) it’s over. The job had its frustrating points, like the count down machine….as well as its good points. Like blanche, and other great people I have met.

My spiritual life has really grown here. I have learned so much about God character. I have also been taught a lot of wise things. the people from 29 below have been amazing. They have accepted me with open arms, and all of them have been great people to get to know. I really appreciated chatting with people like Christina and Matt as well as Sam.

Even with having very few people to hang out with here it has made me really value friendship. I have tried to write letters to a few people, and want to continue to do so when I arrive back in Michigan. Letters have such a great way of connecting people, even if it does cost money, and take longer to get then an email. It is still exciting to see a letter from someone you love in the mail. Being in Pa has really made me appreciate the friendships I hold close to my heart.

I am excited to start on this new semester…even if it does mean learning greek. I will have no life, yet again….but im ok with that. I want to be a great student. I want to strive to be the A student I was last semester. I want to maintain the discipline I had when it came to my homework as well as studying.

I want to make Wednesdays my fasting day. I want to make have the opportunity to not have school, or work that day. That way I will be able to devote my time to spending time with God, and spending time being a good student. I want to be able to have an accountability partner in Beth. I want to be able to continue to grow, while im back in michgian. I have grown to much here in Erie, I don’t want to have it break when I come back to Michigan.

With all things said in done, coming to pa was good. I got to spend time with my family and create amazing memories. Enjoy the time I spend with my crazy, but amazingly fun neighbor pebbles and her adorable kids. It was worth it, I would even say. I would do it all over again.

“Being happy doesn't mean that everything is perfect. It means that you've decided to look beyond the imperfections.”

Beloved || Inner Pattern

Awaken the inner pattern
A murmur of self
A heart between beats
Tearing out the pages left and right
Of the human letter
In a burning moment
Threaded with compassion
Bound and held tight
In form and fashion
Bleeding restoration
Into a heart that’s grave
Breathing in life into our lungs
Into our throats like open graves
Our eyes aren’t closed
Our eyes are asleep
You have dreamt long enough
With open eyes
There is no escape for those
Who betray their inner self
Are we absent in thoughts of escape?
While our minds sleep
In days we saved
You’ve cut all ties
And broken all your bonds
To your inner self
Now you will lie
An unhappy life away
Let the fire in your eyes
Burn it clean inside
Let the blood revise the ink
In your veins
This world won’t define our hope
We’ll sit through the ashes
Until we find what’s true in our hearts
And write it there
For this is what strikes fear in the heart of man
These are the days that we’ve made
And the chances that we’ll take
We can’t carry this vessel to shore
with out an anchor of hope

10:26PM - mature

Monday 9.18.2006
(eph 2:8-9)

I woke up at 930 I love being able to sleep in! we had breakfast as a whole, unlike the many other days where they just let us wake up by 1030 and make our own breakfast. Anywho. We had cleaning duty since we were leaving Schwartsvaldeckhaus. Kendra, meilissa, Kristin, and myself has bathroom duty. Although Kendra and I really just needed to clean the showers.
After I finished with cleaning, I went to the room to pack. When I was finished packing I finished packing I sat down with Melissa, megan, liz and beth, and we chatted. We talked about all different things, we even got more stories from beth. Haha. Sometimes it amazes me how she is still living.
Then Fletcher wantes us to have a group picture, there were so many of us some of us had to stand infront of the house and some were leaning out of the windows (I was!) it isn’t to bad of a picture.
Finally we headed back home, after out 30 minute or so walk down the hill we had to wait for the bus. Most of us ended up eating cheese sandwiches before the bus arrived. It was really foggy, but none the less it was beautiful.
I was ecstatic when I was able to shower, that was the first thing before even unpacking! When I did get out of the shower I began to un pack and piled my dirty clothing in a pile so I could do it late.
I attempted to try and talk to mom, but no avail. -_- that irritated me a little, because the person who was going to be their guide ended up ditching them so I needed to get a hold of them.
We had dinner as a big old family and then I took a very long nap. Then we had a small meeting about the sightes we needed to see. I was slightly restless before I went to bed, I guess it was because of my nap, so I cleaned a bit of my room and then finally fell asleep.

Tuesday September 19, 2006
I got up at 745 and decided I didn’t want to shower since I showered so late in the day on Monday. I came down for breakfast, and we had guess what!?! Cereal! Then we had our small assembly singing our songs and listening to God.
We went off to our German class, we are nearing the end, but im getting rather tired of frau elher. It will be over soon enough. We got out early like usual and then had lunch.
I tried to call mom, and once again I didn’t get to talk to her. The internet was down so christen beth and I went second hand store shopping, we found out they sell more junk and don’t really sell clothing. It wasn’t a very successful mission of any of us. So we decided to go to the market before we went home. yay! today i woke up at 745, normally i get up at like....730, but i didnt want to shower, because we just got back from the austrian alps, and i was exhausted (even though we spent all weekend relaxing, horah!)
ok. so yes, we had breakfast, and it wasnt exciting, we had cerial, which is a usaul,. im rather sick of cerial, but its not the end of the world..... then we went to class. if i have to listen to any more hisorty about Austria i will poke my eyes out with a spork. but the learning german part is a blast, but i need to get better at it. im going to try and find some progroam online to work with..eh. moving on.
lunch was pretty ok, nothing fancy, some cassrole somthing or another.. eh. so after lunch beth, christin and i went on a mission to second hand stores, but aparently they just sell junk and not clothing, so, anyway. we ended our unsecessful mission with a trip to the market, yay for bread, cheese and pretzals! that is pretty much my food staples here...along with TONS of nutella.
we had a live video feed from the castle to our chaple, which was pretty cool, yay :)
so, we came back, had a quick dinner, and then deiced to go to H&M, but by the time we went out again evertyhing was closing. (everything closes at 7 here its so strange)
so, we did manage to sneak in right before so beth cloud buy a hat. we ended up at tichy (which is this amazing galatto for 1.50 MMMMM. i get haszlnuss, schoklate, and kaffee. so good. after that we just made our way abck to the castle.
i waited for a computer to become open so i could do a ton of homework. i have been infront of this stupid computer for hours, so im going to be free in a few moments, yay.

Wednesday September 20, 2006
Around 730 I showered and was even ambitious enough to do my makeup. I read some before assembly. Jb spoke about the grace of God. I really love when JB speaks, he makes it so relevant to life and he always tells stories which helps because I actually can remember it then.
Then we went to class…ew… but something exciting was right around the corner! We had sloppy joes for lunch! Yay! I was so freaking excited. I love sloppy joes.
Then fletch had signed us up to all go bike riding. It was so cool. We went around the ring, with our tour guide wolfy. He was this hippy like guy, skinny blonde with a very chiseled face, he looked maybe..fourtyish. he was wearing manpries. –small rant!- I love guys in manpries, I think it’s the most entertaining think in the world…erm…anyway. It was the coolest bike ride ever. It was so beautiful. Except three people tired to take me out~ haha..
When I fi nished the bike ride, beth came back with me and we stolled up to newaldegg the other hotel thinger. I amazingly enough made reservations for mom and dad. It was so easy. I was proud of myself. I can actually accomplish things…most of the time haha.
Beth and I came back to the castle and had dinner, I had grilled cheese. I love grilled cheese, im gald too since its cheap. All I need is some bread and some gunda cheese and MMM. A grilled cheese is mine. Although im really starting to crave mack and cheese, and cheese its…-_-
So, then we hopped on the tram (avoding homework in the castle) so we did homework as we made our way to tichy. Mm. you can never have enough tichy! Yay for gelato.
I chatted with beth, we had some really good conversations about dating and people in general. It was quite entertaining. We also talked about trips and home work -_-
When I did finally make it home I did some more homework and then I was off to bed.

Thursday September 21,2006
I woke up at seven thirty (im going to be really bored when I go back and read in my journals how many times I start off with –I woke up at seven thirty-) but…that’s the routine I have made. I come down to breakfast after my shower and then I go to german class…
Today it was bad, I did a whole bunch of homework and ended up getting a bad grade so she wants me to redo them. RAWR. But when I got out of class mom and dad were standing by the ping pong table waiting! Apparently jb and mom and dad never met eachother. So they made their own way here which was rather impressive. So they at lunch with us, everyone was asking them questions but they seemed to be good. Even though they didn’t get enough sleep.
After lunch I took them to their hotel and they took their bags to the room and we decdied we were going to meet at 230. we met and we had to walk a long ways because mom wanted to get three day ubhan passes, but we didn’t really know the program, so I we stolled. We ended up finding this cute little café we gave up and bought them the two dollar journey pass..but we didn’t know it was just a journey pass at the time.
So we made it to setphans platzs. I actually did a lot of talking that day. I guess I felt like I needed to talk because I knew how crappy it is to be half awake and exhausted. So we continued to look for the place where we could buy them tickets. But we still didn’t understand it. We went in and out of some shops and then we went to the bakery the first day we went to when we got to Austria. I had pizza something and mom has something spinach. I found out the girl there speaks English! What a bonus.
After spending our very long day walking a round we went to the café we found eairler and got cake. It was SO SO SO good. Im glad dad took me there. I came back and did some homework. I always feel kind of bad because im neglecting homework, but then again im not, because I do spend a good portion of my time in front of the computer doing homework.
We had a girls devo we did some old monk thing that sounds like something like ta vae something or another. Anyways, you read a bible verse in threes. You ask youself how it affects you in life and sing songs related to the bible verse. We talked about the mustard seed parable. It was cool. I got soething from my secret buddy, who I think is christen. But I don’t know. Then I went off to bed!

Friday September 22, 2006
i slept in until eight, I didn’t want to get out of bed…I went to class and it wasn’t exciting like usual. We learned how to use words in the restaurant (which became handy). After class we ad lunch and then beth and I ment up with mom and dad. We went to go see the Pestule or something. Its this statue in stephans plats that represents the holy trinity. Then we all went and got ice cream. Dad didn’t like it, which was weird. On the topic of dad, he is having some mad crazy anexity and home sickness. Its getting so bad that mom has to drug him because he is shaking so much. Its scary. He was all groggy and lolly gagging. It wasn’t cool at all..made me kind of sad. I love my dad so much 
anyway we went to the stephenskirck tour. It was hard to understand the guy that was giving us the tour. Pah. We also ran to the other museum but it was closed -_- that was irritating.
So we ment up with a small group. Katie, jaren, dan and abbey. We decided to go find the hundervasserhaus. But in the process we ended up taking the very very very long way there. It was kind of hard dragging my parents along. More like dragging dad along. I felt bad for mom, since she had to try and take care of him by herself  anyway. We did find it. Yay 
We watched mike and D (the Spanish kid I cant remember the name of) dance. They were awesome, they prefeformed African music. It was so so so cool. Dan was so cute, he was all protective he was giving the evil eyes to all the guys that were watching any of us girls. –inserts aww-
So then we went to rupertskirkie after getting some pizza. They have really strange pizza, and you can get almost anything on it. I had spich pizza it was good! Anyway before we went out to rupertskircke. I found the Shakespeare book company, it’s the English book store! Horah! Then I had to take mom and dad home because they were tired.

Saturday September 23, 2006
We planned to get up at 630 so we could all go to the flea market. Mom joined us. She made me laugh, the doors here are weird. You can lock your door from the inside our out. And mom only had one key so she had to lock dad into the hotel room. Haha. So we went to the flea market. I didn’t find anything really all to cool., I wasn’t motivated enough to look.
We bought lots of food. I bought corn, 3 palmigrantis, 4 ears of corn, fruit mix, penuts and bread! MMm. Mom bought cheese and grapes and avocado. I did end up finding a really cool shirt that says –die artze- which means the physicians. And an awesome black studded belt for 8 euros. Mom bought a really awesome bag for three euros. I had lots of fun with mom. I think it was cool because we didn’t have to worry about where dad was.
We all decided to go back to the rooms and sleep. Dad when back to bed when mom got there. Apparently he slept 20 hours  I mean yeah, that’s good for him, but tehn aain maybe its not.
After our nap we went out and visited Belvedere, which was ok. It was just like schonnbrunn. We took a few cute pictures though. We had a fountain picture. But it was still really stressing going from not having to answer anyone’s questions to constantly answerings moms questions and dragging dad. But none the less it was awesome to spend time with them. We were making memories.
On our way around we stopped at the hofburg place. They had a sports festival going on. It was really really cool. It was a TON of tens with all the sports you can think of. They had dancing and fun things for kids to do and they were giving away food and stuff.
After that we found this AMAZING little jazz club. They let us in, to sit on the pratice. The band is called route to groove. We ended up meeting the sound guy, and the the manager. The managers name is eric, the sound guy is innew and the bar tender that told us where the clubs we were look for is david. It was really cool. So Austrians don’t party though. They don’t even really clap to music. It was so strange. They are SO layed back here.
We ended up getting in really late. We had to wait a long time for the night bus. but at least we figured out how they work. It was lots of fun being out with mom and dad, except they spent lots of money. But! We did manage to get put on the guest list.

Sunday September 24, 2006
i did manage to over sleep. I set my alarm clock, but apparently I turned it off. I woke up to the sounds of voices and doors slamming. So I jumped out of bed and all I did was put on clothing, I remember deodorant though! That is always a bonus huh? So needless to say I missed breakfast and mom and dad were waiting for me with the rest of the group.
We went to augestenieskurkie. It was so super boring. The church was beautiful, but first off, we were stuck in this corner staring at the back of some statue (which was beautiful) but we couldn’t see ANYTHING that was going on in the mass. And it was in german, so not only could we not see anything but we couldn’t understand it. AND. It was super long. It was from 11-1230 it was the longest catholic mass I have ever sat through. Don’t get me wrong, I do appreciate sitting in most catholic masses, but I don’t want to have to ever do that again. At least not in Austria, or some foreign language.
After mass we all congregated and decided to go to the wien museum because it was free and a required sight. Yeah. Anyway. We ended up getting a kabeap which is this amazingly awesome sandwich with lamb in it I think. MM. it was good. Plus we saw the traveling buddy bears. They are these bears painted individual for each country or something. They were BEAUTIFUL.
Then I took mom and dad to the house of phones, I was really tired… dad kept asking questions we were just talking about, moments before. Sometimes that amuses me other times, it irritates me. It was the verge of irritation. But, mom and dad did buy me a phone card so I can call and talk to them 
I came home and everyone was sittng outside talking with Thompson so I sat with them for a few moments before going up to bed and taking a nap until dinner.
I had dinner and then mom and dad came and visited us. They joined us for communion.
We had communion in the huge ball room upstairs. I am STILL marling at art work. Artist fascinate me. I really wish I was one. Oi! They create such beauty. Murr. Anyway communion was good, we did our worship and JB talked about signs of power. Or symbols of power rather. Anywho. It was cool. Im glad mom and dad joined us.
After that we had a talk about using our euro rails and such. I got a hold of cousin tony (the one from Tennessee) he is living in german for a year so we are going to try and hook up while im in Austria. :D
Then I finally got to bed :D

were nothing short of invincible
Monday September 25, 2006
*woke up and took a shower. I woke up and took a shower, I came down stairs and had breakfast…I had sugar puffs.
* went to class, I cant elaborate to much. Class. Like always is continuously boring. Its seems like we are in there forever. It sucks. I always love the german part. Except we are leanring time and I HATE it.
*said good bye to mom and dad after lunch. Mom and dad came here while we were in class to use our computers. I ate lunch and then gave them hugs.
*mom bought me nutella and dad gave me some money.my parents rock. It was awesome that even though I am in a different country they still take care of me. Yay :D it felt strange when they would buy me stuff though, because I have gotten use to taking care of myself. So anyway I said my good byes. They made their way to prauge
* went to the vineyard with beth and a small group. It was a beautiful landscape except I didn’t get to bring my camera since the batteries were dead -_- hopefully mom remembers to ship those back to me.
* beth and I thought it would be a good idea to walk through the vinards and into the city. Which, like always sounds like agood idea at the time. Until traveled down the vinardy, before slipping and falling into something I was alleric too. My arms was getting these little hive like things, bit it didn’t spread any. It just itches some which isn’t good but at least im not dead! haha
*cut my hand while I was trying to jump the fence into the cemetery. So beth and I saw this amazingly beautiful cemetery. It was beautiful. So we decided jumping a fence to get in was a good idea. But, I manage to cut my hand while scaling the fence.
* made our way through side streets. I told her about the time I went with Lindsay to stoney creak and got lots for a very long time on our roller blades. I was like –for some reason I feel like we might be having of those moments beth- but we didn’t we manage to navigate our way through side streets and saw beautiful villas. I saw a cat that looked like jewels. It made me sad. I miss my kittie. I miss everyone. Murr..
* found the ubahn back in. we did manage to find the D ubahn back. Which was nice. We made our way back to the 43. beth told me about the missions she did in Uganda, it sounded so cool I really hope we do some cool missions work besides going with the kids to the park.
*got ice cream. It wasn’t as good as tichys. But that’s ok. It was still icecream. We met up with princess, john, dan and Katie.
* rented a movie with princess, john, dan and Katie at this german video store, it was quite entertaining. Since we didn’t have a membership princess had to give them 40 euros for the movie and then we got a card and the movie. I pray gets all of her money back.
* came home and baked cookies and ate dinner. Everyone wanted sweets. And since I was n the mood to procrastinate (like always) so I made cookies, but I was so so sad because I didn’t have anyone to bake with me. I was really missing Eric. I was thinking about all the crazy times we have had messing up many cookie recipes in the kitchen. But I didn’t have anyone to have funny cookie memories with…so I bakes them by myself. They turned out good though :D
* watched the movie. We a movie called –about a boy- it was super funny, escept I was really sad, I didn’t have a paul to lay with while I watch a movie. Or at least anyone to hug me while I watch it. After the movie I talked with Christien. We talked about aimle, and weird since. And was like. Aww…more movies that make me think of paul.
*attempted to make my secrete sister something. I was getting all pissed off because I wasn’t getting anywhere. I was thinking about all the fun creative things I use to do with jessy. It made me a bit sad to think about how I don’t have anyone to be creative with here. Murr. Ill have to try and scrounge up my creativity none the less.
* went to bed. I was finally up to the point of pathetic. I just gave up and went to bed.

unfading beauty, not just a face
Tuesday September 26, 2006
Finally. Today.i got up at 730. I showered and made my way down stairs. Thank God for making cookies! I got to have eggs this morning. Since princess was in the room with me, she was talking about having eggs (this morning) and she made me fried eggs :D yay for not having cereal!
After breakfast we had class. It was so boring, I was literally nodding off in class. I couldn’t stay awake for the life of me. It seemed so long.
After I had some lunch I went up to bed and passed out. I set my alarm clock to wake me up at 230, and then three…and then I vetoed the idea and figured, I would get up when my body was ready.
Around fourthiry I was out of bed finally. I have been infront of this computer all day, finishing up my homework. I finished up the topics I needed to finish, but she still has to give me back some topics. I have also been working on my journal entires. I was more then a week…not so caught up -_- but yay! Im caught up now. Finally it only took me forever.
I did take a break to eat dinner. I had grilled cheese, corn on the cob, and crackers with nutella. It was good. I chatted with beth and megan. I feel kind of bad because I skipped the bible study, but I did get my homework done! Beth and steph and I need to talk about where we are going to go on our ten day. It will all work out . <3 <3

12:22AM - cookies dough!?!

Oh my look! im alive...i seem to start off a lot of my entries with that huh?

wel i know, i fall off the edge of the earth for a few days, and its awsoem that you all try and make contact with me,. i feel so love.

um well its curently 1210 at night, and im going to find out how much of a blog i want to post. so here we go.

today i woke up at 745, normally i get up at like....730, but i didnt want to shower, because we just got back from the austrian alps, and i was exhausted (even though we spent all weekend relaxing, horah!)

ok. so yes, we had breakfast, and it wasnt exciting, we had cerial, which is a usaul,. im rather sick of cerial, but its not the end of the world..... then we went to class. if i have to listen to any more hisorty about Austria i will poke my eyes out with a spork. but the learning german part is a blast, but i need to get better at it. im going to try and find some progroam online to work with..eh. moving on.

lunch was pretty ok, nothing fancy, some cassrole somthing or another.. eh. so after lunch beth, christin and i went on a mission to second hand stores, but aparently they just sell junk and not clothing, so, anyway. we ended our unsecessful mission with a trip to the market, yay for bread, cheese and pretzals! that is pretty much my food staples here...along with TONS of nutella.

we had a live video feed from the castle to our chaple, which was pretty cool, yay :)

so, we came back, had a quick dinner, and then deiced to go to H&M, but by the time we went out again evertyhing was closing. (everything closes at 7 here its so strange)

so, we did manage to sneak in right before so beth cloud buy a hat. we ended up at tichy (which is this amazing galatto for 1.50 MMMMM. i get haszlnuss, schoklate, and kaffee. so good. after that we just made our way abck to the castle.

i waited for a computer to become open so i could do a ton of homework. i have been infront of this stupid computer for hours, so im going to be free in a few moments, yay.

oh p.s. my mom and dad are coming to see me in like...a day, so you should give them somthing to give me before they see me on thursday :)

p.s.s my phone works. so you should call me :)

love love. email me or talk to me soon <3

4:35PM - thats your pen.

so today has been pretty useless, good, but useless. today we woke up eairly and had breakfast. i had breakfast clean up duty. so i cleaned before we headed off to church. we jumped on the 43 UBAN tram. and took it to the 2, and then to another one, and walked to the church (this all took about a hour).

so we went to church and had our first german speaking chruch service, it would be even cooler if i wasnt so exhausted. i was really tired. the church service was rather cool. they had a translator for us, it was about laying our life down for christ. and living a life pleasing to him.

afterwords they tlked about what we would be doing for missions, we wll be meeting every tuesday, thursday. and working with young children to teenagers. im SO excited.

after that we took the tram over to burger king, yes, your read it right, we were all craving american food. its really hard trying to figure out what your eating when its in german and you are hugry!

when we were done with lunch we made our way back here, and we all planned on napping. i on the other had washed my laundry in the sink, because we have been here for two days and i was having black withdrawls...and as soon as i finish, they announced that we could n ow use the washers and dryers. -_- go figure right/

then i hung out with diana, did some hand written journals, worte a post card, and came down in this HUGE room where we have a movie scree (perhaps ill take a picture of it) and watch amodaious *SP?* i gave up on the battle of staying awake and went to bed at 510....diana woke me up for dinner at sixthriy, (well she woke me up at six fifteen.

we had dinner and then i hung out with everyone in the movie room (thats where we have the computers and stuff) so. not to long after i headed to my room to journal, and do some hoemworka nd then this huge bug chased me out of my room..

i uploaded 323 pictures to my ipod from my london tirp. yay. hopefully i will be getting the time to try nd uplod the pictures here...

ok. but i really should go. its 10 somthing here...

much love!GB

p.s. they have AMAZING and cheap gelato.

5:44PM - almost done

so, as you all know i was in london. london was so cool, it was slightly dirty, but not....city club dirty ;) actually london was quite amazing!

so on our last day, beth and i decided we would go to the market to get food at 11. so we knew we didnt have to be back at the hotel until 12. so we took the tube to notting hill (which is a tich of a distance from our hotel) ok, so we get to the market, grab some fresh crossants, which are fablous and go to our tube station, by this time its 1130 (did i mention the tube is the underground subway thinger?) ok. so we stand there for 10 minutes and they finally announce a delay because there is somthing on the track....

RAWR. so here we are, a mile maybe more from our hotel and we have 10 minutes to get there. we start running, (well beth ran,i skipped....i get pretty dang far) so anyway. we were there at 15 after...good time for us. JB informed us that the group left us and we would have to take the tube all the way to the air port. so i was very excited dr bartion was there with us because he is super relaxed. it wasnt bad at all.

when we do get to the airport, out whole group was pressed for time, because there were just huge lines everywhere! so we had to do a lot of line cutting, (which airport assistance no less) and we get to the plane....then we sit on the run way for an hour.....because the air trafic was backed up...

when we finally did land....two girls had there luggage lost, so we didnt arive here until 830 (230am your time) but anyway.

austria is beautiful, i have my own room and im all cozy, pretty soon i will be plastering pictures up on the walls and learning german.

the money is getting a lot easier. but the language barrier is SO hard. there are plenty more 'freaks' here then i expected, there wre hardly any in the UK, but im very excited to be here. and it all just rocks. so. i really really shoud be going.

i love you all and miss you like crazy.

please email me, or write me letters or i will give out my phone number soon enough.

12:24PM

Monday, Aug. 28: all program participants must arrive in the OKC area at some point that day or evening. My understanding is that most Rochester students will be coming together from Detroit. Cascade guys, check with me if you have questions.

Tuesday, Aug. 29 at 9 a.m. through Saturday, Sept. 2 at noon: orientation. Please don't schedule any activities during this period of time (again, we'll plug in some free time). Soon we'll provide a list indicating which of you will present your oral reports during this pre-departure orientation. Saturday p.m. will be free for you.

Sunday a.m., Sept. 3: We depart for Europe!

9. TENTATIVE TRIP ITINERARY. This must still be considered tentative, but here are some likely dates for our trip. There are numerous things not listed here (excursions, Vienna tours, etc.), and some of this WILL change. It's shaping up to be a very exciting semester.

Sept. 4-8: London and area. We'll have some guided and some "on your own" activities (several required sites in London), plus free time. We'll go to a show together (likely to be Shakespeare's "Comedy of Errors" at the New Globe Theatre). Yes, there will be an opportunity for you to see an additional London show--at your own expense, if you'd like. Road trip to Oxford, Stratford-on-Avon and Warwick Castle is built in.

Sept. 8 p.m.: fly to Vienna. The next few weeks will be dedicated to Vienna orientation, the German and culture courses, and getting the Bible course off the ground.

Sept. 22-24: Retreat in the Austrian alps. You're going to love our trip to Schwarzwaldeckhaus!

Oct. 5-8: Service project to Germany. All group members travel to either Dresden or Chemnitz, Germany to work with local missionaries.

Oct. 12-22: First long free-travel period. You'll set your itinerary (within guidelines that we'll share with you). Europe is at your doorstep!

Oct. 26-29: All students participating in the missions element of the trip will travel to Zagreb, Croatia this weekend. For others, this is a free weekend for travel.

Nov. 1-7: Group trip to Rome, Florence, and Venice, Italy.

Nov. 10-19: Second long free-travel period.

Thursday, Nov. 23: Thanksgiving in Vienna.

Nov. 23 (p.m.)-26: Free weekend for travel

Nov. 30-Dec. 3: Final free weekend.

Dec. 4-7: Final days in Vienna.

Dec. 7: Fly to London (MAY be able to squeeze in a quick run into the city that night)

Dec. 8: Back to the USA.

8:32PM - journals

12.3.05
well i suppose i should talk about yesterday.. i hope i write down everything . so.. saturday. i woke up,and got ready to go to the pottery show. i thought it was really nice :D .mom dad and i went to hooters for lunch. then we came home and i went to work.

work was really nice. i had good tables. i made fourty in tips but gave five to liz and ryan each, because they helped a lot. :) yeah. i asked liz to go to flordia with me. i hope she does. :)

then i came home and gathered my crap and headed over to goats. jessy, sam and kalya were already there. i got ready for city. i tossed on my corset and my skirt, yellow knee high's and my red and black dreads. not to forget my awsome chain belt.

amy came, along with chin, and her BF. we drove there. well. we didnt end up getting there intill 1130-12ish. we went and danced. i danced all night long, it was WONDERFUL. i dont think anyone understands. and all the beautiful 'freak's for lack of a better tearm. oh man, i just love the way freaks dress, and their personas. generally they are nice. or at least amusing to watch. the industral was spetacular. they played skinny puppy, VNV nation, and i want to say even wumpskut. :D i danced a lot with jessi and goat. and this guy danced with me. im sure he might have been attractive if he was near my height. he was super tall. and i was cheating! ( using my platforms) mm, anyway he was wearing this leather kilt, and didnt so much have a shirt. i was like HURM. and headed back over to dance with jessy. dancing with my friends is so much safer then random guys.

hurm. so yes, chin's BF asked me waht my major was, when we were at goats. and he was like -you are going to be a youth pastor and going to city club- i didnt know if that was a good thought or bad thought to put in his head.

so we danced untill 330 in the morning. then came back to goats to sleep. i ended up falling asleep around 4:30.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

i got up around 900 and came back to my house. i got ready for church. today church service was new. we got to announce that our new church is going to be on 14 & vandyke. praise GOD.

our entire church went to the new buliding and said a prayer over it.

then mom and i went out to breakfast. i came home, and eric called. i gathered my hw and went to his house. i tired to use his computer but it was tooo slow, he had dial up and i was not getting anywhere with my research. mm...then cory came over ( the boy who likes eric).

then we went to the video store and rented sleepy hallow. then we came here and watched it :D i love the movie. and johnny depp is so attractive.

then eric and cory left and i did research all night.. welll.

i need to go to bed. i need sleep. GB

------------------------------------------------

12.5.05
today was one heck of a hard day. i woek up, (although i didnt want to get out of bed) took a shower, found some clothing, got dressed, made a cup of coffee, and a bagel.

then drove to school. i listened to Emery and Disiple on my fourty five min drive. i got there a bit earily and studied my notes, because i knew i had a math test.

so i went to my class room, and realized, i didnt do the graded hw. -_- im am screwing up so bad. so so bad in my math class. i have failed my last two tests.

then i went to my basic writing class, after hanging out in the Cafe for a short while with aj and staci. writing was....writing class. we were 'learning' about the proper uses of comma. woo.

mmm. then i came back to the cafe and talked with aj. im so proud of him, he is going to stop smoking 1.1.06 :) i will need to pray for him could you as well?

then i went to assembly. assembly...dare i say it....was actually great? we stood while we sung and...it was just peaceful. something i really needed. to be in the persance of GOD.

after assembly, i had NT. which was good like always. DR barton spoke slightly on revelation. he alos tols us about when he was a missionary in uguanda...he was talking about the GENEOSIDE *Sp* in rawanda. he visited a church were four thousand people were killed in moments. yeah. i dont exactally remember how that related to revelations, but it did in class :P.

then i went to the ace lab and worked on my outline for comunications. i cant wait till the class is over prayers for my speech wensday.

when class was let out, i drove to work ( but i didnt have to work ^.^ zulema did my nails.) they are pretty snazzy looking ^.^

after zulema did my nails i had to come home and make lazana *SP* i think i need a dictionary.. murr. dinner was good.

dinner was over, and i headed to the coffee beanery. i met lizzy up there after working on my speech for a bit. we talked about how im stressed out over college, and work and my mom. i don't ever make time to read my bible, unless ofcourse it is for NT. speaking of which i need to do that as well.

she gave me a few bible verse..

im going to write what bible verse that i read, and what i got out of it. so. tonight.

Bible verse: 1 Peter 4:10; 1 tim 1:12; 2 tim 3:16,17; 1 tim 4:12
What i got out of it: use your gifts; God has called ME into the minsitry; God's word is insperational; don't despise look down on young

Yay. God time, in stress. GB

1:33AM - dont give me that 'my dog is dead' face

My lordy today was a long day. i could not sleep last night. im sure i ended falling asleep around 2:30, i got up at 7:10.i took a shower and put on my handy blue veggie tales shirt and jeans.

i went to school and sat through my absoutly amazing -hah yeah right- basic writing class.

after that i sat in the cafe. and waited untill assembly, which was actually nice. it is our schools.....theater group. they did a really good play or...what ever you want to call it. about the song amazing grace. very very very good.

um. then staci kourtney and i went to starbucks. i bought a venti iced carmel machiaato *SP* we talked about kourtneys relationship issues, and staci's job issues.

then we went back to school and mrs turner was not there. we had to do these scantron -how was did this class/teach help in your college careere-

i got out around one fourty five. so i then i came home and dilly dalled.since i did not have to work until 440 anyway. so. yeah. i eventually went to work. i had tables from hell.. well........

it was four ladies. they started talking to me all at once. the one lady asked me if we had peach margratias. and then asked me what size the shrimp was.then the other lady asked me if she could have a wet burr with out the ranchero sauce...and then i was like...im not really sure.. no one has ever asked me if they could have a wet burr with out the sauce...and then the lady was like... i want a coke, no, a lemonaid, no a coke..wait...i want a lemonaide, but if its not good, im giving it back to you and you will bring me a coke. so i brough them their food..and the burger was not well done enough. and then they complained about the margratias. i was like.... rawr. i could hardly wait untill they left.

my other tables were wonderful to me. thank GOD because i don't think i could handle really mean tables. i think i would have walked away.

but anyway. right before i was leaving chelo gave me a table. and the guy at this table could not decide for his life on something to eat. it wsa so irritated. i served them for 20min tops. and they sat ther for 30-40 mins. i just wanted to go home. i made 25 in tips today so..i did ok. i suppose.

then i hung out with roger, and jessi. we watched advent children.

and now i am about ready to pass out. so GB

12:59AM - all we have is hope

mmmmmmmmm

i woke up around 1230 today..... i had the strangest dream...my mom and i were at this convention thing. i was looking at disciples tour shirts..then suddenly we were in an isle of body jewerly. i was telling my mom how i wanted my vertical labret pierced. then some girl came up beind me, picked up a sanitary curved bar bell and said ill pierce it for you. then my mom was like i want to get my tounge pierced! i was like o.O but some other girl took her aside and pierced her. then my mom had her tounge doen and i had my lip done, and my mom said she was feeling faint. so i asked her if she wanted me to pray for her. so i laied my hands on her and stared praying...usually dreams with my mom, its always about me getting pierced...

and then in the other dreams...im prayin in them. laty ive been seeming to alway always always be praying in my dreams.. o.O its getting quite strange...

anyway... lol. i got up and did chores. after that mom bought me this super snazzy coat i need to take pictures of.

then i went to work.

9:49PM - OH MY

alright. so heres a quick viwe of my day. i need sleep :P

i got up...well mom woke me up because i turned my alarm clock on but i didnt set it to go off.. -_-. MURR.

then i got my stuff together and ended up leaving the house at 715..then i realized i needed gas GAH. so i went to my trunk ot get my wallet and locked my keys in the tunk. so luckly i had my spare key under my car.

so i was a bit late getting to class. but anyway. i was happy my math teacher had my caculator :D woo. no loss yeah!!!

um....then i went to my writing class..which i still. strongly dislike.

then i went to assembly, then my new test class. kourtney was like ' im going to switch my major, i dont like my music classes..i think i want a bible minor but i dont know what i would do with it'
i was like ' teach sunday school?'
"nah i dont like working with kids"
:be a youth pastor?"
"no women arent allowed to be pastors. its says in the bibles'
i just looked at her. i was to irritated to start. its people like, her an my aunt. (( i dont mean to bash but)) they are the same baptist faith that beat me down for being a female and God calling me to be a youth pastor. so much is coming against me. its insane!

so...after the class i called Aileen. and she made me feel tons better. ROMANS 8:31 & romans 8:33
i was reading in tim, where it says women shouldnt be teachers and since its a study bible it went to explain he ony said that because they didnt have enough knowledge to be teachers yet. isadhflsdkj MURR.

then i was pratically half awake in my comm class.

then i stopped at work, to see if i worked. im glas i assumed i did. i walke din not dressed and zeulema was like ;what happened' i was like what happenend to what? she was like why arent you dressed..i was like...i didnt know if i worked... because chelo never put up a schedule when i was there sat. so i had three tables from 430-800.. i made 15 dollars. crappy day..

now im going to go pass out because im so tired. blah!! night GB!!

romans 8:31

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

So, what do you think? With God on our side like this, how can we lose?

1:19AM - youll never find someone as good as me

there are more but i need to write a journal entry so i can sleep.

so i forced myself out of bed 1130, even though i had crappy sleep. i knew i needed to do math home work, which i never got to do, because icant find my caculator i just bought!! :'( UGH i pray i find it. i NEED to find it.

so anyway, eric called me and i complained to him about random things. it was nice to talk with eric. we talked for 39 some min about nothing exciting :P it rocked. i love talking with eric.

then, i took a shower and got ready for the family function. which was nice actually. i stopped at the estate sale across the steet from unlce scotts and aunt sharons and bought two books for me and one for rachie. all the money is being donated to the hurricane katring. which is cool.

so then we ran back to uncle scotts and ate. the food was really good. it felt awsome. i wasnt uncomforable to be iwth my family which is extremely strange.

i eventually made my way to work :) work was SO slow tonight. i made 26 dollars in tips, two dollars to liz and then ryan. liz and i got to leave eairly and went to the coffee beanery :D so now i am left with 17 dollars :S i cant wait to be out of debt lol.,

anyway, we had the most amazing deep converstions. alot was it about ryan, and i. she really wants to fix what ever seems to be going on. and then we talked alot about personalities and about people and our generation. it was great. i really adore her and love spending time talking with her. she is the perfect coffee shop kinda gal. :)

then i took her home. now i need to go to sleep. :) GOD BLESS

after assembly i sat and did math homework. catlyn helped me. SHe rocks. shes also a commuter. shes really sweet. lots of energy.

anyway. then i ran off and met with my math teacher. i really respect her. she is amazing. she spent 15 min with me, showing me math problems i didnt understand. woo!!! shes is just a blessing. i might do well in math :D

after she helped me, i hung out in my car, i just wanted to chill. i listened to blindside. i went to science to scipture. which was good. i need to type up the notes. -read my bible....and do more math-

after that i came home. i got my pictures. which sadly non from kingdom bound :'( ugh. then i made dinner.

i made a coffee run with amy. roger came over, we waited for jason. then we went up to family video and rented 'monkey ball' and then ;'mario party 6' we went to rogers and played it. i had the emo monkey that kept jumping off cliffs and drowning. lmso. then i had emo yoshi. oh man. it was so much fun.

today simply rocked. :D

soo i decided i want a pretty jesus freak :P except i still think they are non-existant. i have yet to find a pretty christian boy that wears eyeliner and loves God :P. one day :P maybe then guys will be less work ;)

tomorrow..er today rather. i have a family function and then i work from 5-9. yay me. :P

nothing TOO exciting. maybe ill get to hang out with liz.

sunday i have the wedding to go to. yep. so. woo. God rocks.

11:17PM - God is on your side

ok. so. well. today. arrrg.

lol. no not really. um. well i went to chruch and it was grand, except i didnt go to 'church' i want to the kids crew, which is the childrens church service thingy. Lori wants me to do the worship team, which would be awsome because i could get to jump around with the kids and praise God at the same time <3. what could be better?

so it was really cute, i loved the worship. they were super energetic. aww. kids. dun dun dun..im liking children *gag i mean gasp ;)*

but it was a blast. then it was rally day. i left a few min earily from kids crew to help my mom set up my dads table to do his Get out of debt class.

then we went to breakfast. mom was all 'im dissapointed ryans not going to the wedding'

anyway. after church i came home and i began quilting. yes. i love it. it is so relaxing. except i was alone, so..i got a bit bored. but i watched the disney version of robin hood, and then watched quite a few episodes of extrem makeover home edition. :)

so my current delema is...*drum roll*
i owe my dad 257 dollars for my breaks.
i owe my mom 20 some dollars for -the aduio version of my book, case for the creator, and then the silly book i need to resell-
i want to take my dad to the rifle range as a thanks for my laptop, but every time i want to go he blows me off. if we dont get to go by the end of this month, ill just buy him something and a card, because i need to start paying off my debt because its making me a bit crazy. i also want to make my mom home made guacamole, and maybe buy her a cd or flowers and a card also a thanks for my lap top. so. eh. i need to figure this all out -_-

AND i need some new clothing. along with that. i need to lose some weight -_-.

i need to join dance or SOMETHING. hopefully ill figure it out. -_-

i work mon 5-9
tues 5-9
sat 5-9

this week is going to be BUSY. please kepe me in your prayers :S

so i get up at 6...go to school...drive home..change...go to work...till 9.. woo. fun day -_-. i need to go do some laundry and then get ready for bed. God bless.

(tap on my chamber door)

12:22AM - she falls asleep

you are the way, you are the truth, you are the light, you are the one

sooo....um i woke up...well mom woke me up at 1030 and i tossed on some clothing an threw back my hair. grandma sandee was coming over soon. so grandma came over and i made her some really strong coffee :)

then we went down stair. first she taught us how to baste? welllll we layed down the muslin fabric, then the filler, then the fabric. we pinned everything and then we were taught how to baste it. making a quilt is SO much fun. so we did mine first, adn then we did moms. we stopped for a break. we went to coney and got food.

then we came home and grandma showed us how we would do the squares. then i got ready for work

i want to work and i hung out with liz. ryan came in. were not on speaking tearms. *shrugs* it was entertaning. liz is more uncomfortable then us :P

oh anyway. mom grandma and i stopped at a grage sale. grandma sandee bought me. 'billy graham-angels' 'with faith all things are possible''eventide-kent haruf' 'love peoms and sonnets of william shakespeare' :D

i felt super special. i need to send her a thank you card or something

so yep. work was good. my knee hurts though -_-. such is life, ive been standing all day.. mmm..so after work it was awsome i hung out with liz. we also watched my favorite movie..well one of them at least :P Peter Pan. the disney version. :D peter pan rocks like woah.

11:26PM - disregard

murr. please pray for Aileen

*deep sigh* my heart just goes out to her. it makes me so sad thinking she is sad. if i could i would cry with her. but shes in Cali. :( i send my love and prayers none the less... man oh man. crushing.

oi! todays been well. yeah..... just a day of God. church was pretty good. it was part three of body soul, spirit. pastor rocks. he makes me happy.

after church we ((my parents, ryan and i)) went to breakfast. then i went to ryans and did his hair. after that we came home and played around on the computer, leaving roger and jason messages because i told them i would. um, then we finally left for arts beats and eats. (( its a festival where they play live music, have stands for art, and food)) that was fun. we walked around in alot of squares, but it was cool. mom bought me the most awsome skirt. ill have to take a picture of it. :) it rocks so hard.

then we decided our cards pastor daryl made it says 'Just for you, just because its a simple way of saying God loves you!. we hops this small gift brightens your day. please let us know if we can help in any way.' then it has our location and stuff on the back. we handed them out with jolly ranchers. :)

then we randomly saw this guy holding these jesus signs. they rocked. we went over and talked to them. they do street evanglism and there church owns a mens and a womens shelter for drug addiicts and stuff. i should volenter there :) that would be a fun experiance. um so then we came home and now. im here. i think i want to go to bed. maybe ill read the bible. i should. i need to finish reading mark 1-8 for homework anyway :P i love being at a christian college!!!!

it rocks. i truly love it. its hard somtimes realizing that i go to one. i get a bit caught off guard when the teachers randomly talking about if from a 'person of faith' point of view. and then i get happy :D its just super cool.

oh!! today in church, this lady prayed for me (( at church we lay hands on the people around us at the end of the service )) and she said she prayed for unspoken things for me.. i want to know what that means..

then lizzy gave me a card. i felt so special <3

it says if you ever wonder how in the world, God could use you to change the world, look at these people. What people? the people God USED to change history. People who found hope, not in there performance, but in God's proverbially open arms. - Max Lacuado.

boy did that card hit the spot.

on the inside it says. God is using you to make a difference. Kris your heart is open to God- surrender to him. God can and will use you to reach many. Psalms 51 says God wants a broken and contrite hear- an obedient heart. stay on the path God has designed for you let his word be your map. i pray as you shine for him many will join on the journey. i love you. <3 lizzy.

For it is God who works in you both to will and to do for his good pleasure. Philipians 2:13. :)

that rocked. God is so cool!!!!

2:24AM - llama llama llama it sucks to be you..llama.

Cypher Zero- Deranged Insanity
AJ Cross- The Evil Fairy
Roger- Pixie Corpse
Jason- Dead on Arrival
Eric- Trauma
Kris- Dancing Corpse

Want yours? Go to http://www.deadname.com

hehe, that was extremely entertaning....

oh my oh my oh my. today i thought was going to be a super crappy day. my dad woke me up at 830 and got me out of bed. i threw my hair up and tossed some random articles of clothing on. then (my dad and i ) drove our cars there. so then dad took me out to breakfast and we blessed the waitress. it was cool she was filling our cups of coffee as we were praying and my dad didnt realize it, and she said amen. it was cool.

then i came home and did math homework while watching 'one hour photo' which was a decient movie. i like it because of all the photography. :)

um. so yeah, then i took a shower and got ready for my day and put on make up and everything. then eric came over. then we left and picked up my car. i called roger and asked him if we were meeting eachother at the resturant, but he said, ill just come to your house. i was like rock on. so he came over and then we left to pick up ryan. we got ryan (( who seemes to be off today )) and then i had to go back to my house and get money, so we went there and i spent 10 dollars on food. you think i would get a discount since i work there :P

ryan was all have awake and eating rogers food. i kind of felt bad for roger. but, none the less it was fun going out. i made liz take a group picture. -i cant wait to get these pictures devoloped along with my baptisim pictures- then we left ryan since he had to work. then eric hung out on the computer, jason slept and roger and i played many fun video games. we found out our goth names. they are entertaning :P.

then we decided on making cookies, which was lots of fun. i took many random pictures. oh man!! the cookies were so funny, we let eric make them and i looked at them when amy was mixing and said.....'somthings wrong with them' it turns out he only put in 1/2 cup of flour, instead of 3 and a half. lol somehow he read it wrong. oi! but we solved that. they were good despite the almost mess up :P

then we went to the park, it was cool. we sat there and reminised for a bit. then ryan showed up. roger and jason walked to another section of the park. ryan started talking about these drunks and then how he smelled like mexican and then....how chelo and liz were teaching him words.

then i got up and took a picture of roger and jason. it was snazzy. then eric, amy, and ryan joined jason and roger and i. ryans body language change quickly. then we all hopped on this like...bus or truck or somthing.. -breaks into story- the last time roger, jason and i were up there we were playing this random out of nowhere thing off the top of our heads about being in tanzinea *sp*...because years before hand --back in the day-- roger and i would hang out in this bus thingy and randomly pretend like we were travling the world-- hehe i know. we dont act like were 18..were just really creative...or bored. how ever you choose to see it.

ANYWAY!! we random went to 'new zealand' *sp* which was this crazy dome thing. you know those metal things you climb on... and then we were like.. where to next, the short way or the long way... roger was like "in the movies they take the long way" so we did.. lol.

ryan pouted and went off the other way. meanwhile we found this red box top..and then we found the other half.. then we found this white pale. we continued on to look for more items. amy was so funny. she started clapping the red top against the red bottom like the coconuts from the monty python -quest for the holy grail- it was priceless..

then we went to the ship part of the play ground. -its an elemetary school aka the park so it has many sections to it- so anyway! we made eric jump off the plank :P i got many random pictures, im so geeked, they better turn out!!!! then... well we ended up going home because eric was tired

then eric called his dad. amy, roger, jason, eric and i sat down on my drive way and waited. ryan leaned against my car away from us. i was like 'whats wrong?' and he was like nothing. and had his arms folded and look at me in that way where you know they are lying but they dont want to tell you. so i gave up and sat down. so then eric left, and ryan went with him. *shrugs* then amy ended up leaving.

so roger, jason and i hung out for a bit longer. then i put some cookies in a bag and then gave them to roger to take to his mom. she loves me. its so awsome :)

anyway... today was a great day :) yay for great days.. and lots of photos. i love pictures. woo.

God bless

12:24AM - the Ghost i felt inside.

well i woke up around 1130..

i did my random chores..lots of laundry, cleaned my bathroom, folded lots of clothing...you know, stuff that sucks up your time.

then i read my book 'none of these diseases' which is a really really good book.. :D you all should read it.

then i went in to work. made 40 some dollars in tips :D woo. it was AWSOME. yeah, work was intresting. very good day, except i kept dropping stupid things like i knocked a glass over, and i dropped a lid and. it was like i couldnt grasp anything. eh, it worked though. today was really good. WOO.

so im planning this thing were (roger, jason, amy, ryan?nikki?eric? and whom ever)) should go to el sombero for dinner for a laborday get together and come over to my house and play video games. that would rock like woah! p.s. i have flyers for 15% off so ask me for one :D

so yes. i hung out with liz after work.we stopped at the coffee beanery. it was good. we did homework. then we went to the pakr, because the coffee beanery was closing. so we did more random homework. woo yay for HW :P

anyway. i was super smart. let me tell you today was full of smart-ness. i ran a red light *grins like a moron* yeah i was asking liz if i was suppose to turn and then i realized the light was red and we were really close. and i knew if i stopped, or atempted to we would be in the middle of the intersection....so i prayed and drove really fast through the light... Praise God no one was hit and there werent any cops. woo.

God loves me like woah..anyway.. i need to get running off to bed. God bless

12:37AM - sabrina...

so, my dad work me up at ten to ten to get ready for church. at least he woke me up. i got ready in about twenty min. church was good. it was about body soul and spirit again. i really like learning about soul.

then ryan dad and i went out to breakfast it was good. ryan asked me if we wanted to hang out today. i was like ok. what do you want to he and hes all. i dont know. im said ok, well i want to go to royal oak and get hair dye. he said i need to go to work and grab the cds. so sabrina happend to be online. eairler in the week we kind of talked about going to sallys to get hair dye, and i told her i needed to go to royal oak. she wanted me to do highlights in her hair. but she didnt think she would do it this weekend, but she happened to get money.

so ryan and i went to royal oak. WOO, ryan got me there safe ((taking the freeway)) hes my hero of the night.

so we went to noir, and i bought my blue hair dye, and then sarbina began freaking out. 'what time are we leaving' i kind of looked at her and was like 'when i feel like it..why do you have somewhere to be?' she said 'well i wanted you to dye my hair so i could show it to my faimly' i said 'you should have told me eailer. it wouldnt even be done tonight to show your family if we started eairly' so we walked into incagnito and she was still freaking out on me about leaving. she was all "what are we doing in here' i said 'were looking, thats normmally what you do in stores..' then we left and she was like 'where are we going now' i told her funky 7. and she was like 'how far is it?' in this voice that made me want to...... ryan was like.. 'three more blocks' and then he whispered to me that we passed it.

so sabrina stormed off intfont of ryan and i. so i turned around. yes. i know, pigheaded, but when im pissed, i walk away. its just safer that way. and ryan was like ' kris, shes running at us' and my body got all tense, i thought she was going to tackel me. ryan kind of pulled me slightly out of the way. sabrina just grabbed my hair. how smart? she started freaking out again. she grabbed my arm =i have a picture of my nice bruse of her fingers= um. oh yeah, i was like 'stop it. dont **** with me." she was like 'well you should stop ******* with me' and she was like 'im going to kill you. do you want me to strangle you? i just looked at her and said ' sabrina, im done talking to you untill you can act like your 18, and have a mature conversation' so then she stormed off infont of us. she kept grabbing my wrist in the 'conversations'. i hate to feel like im being forced...

so she was like on super speed, as we walked to the thrift store, and it was closed so we turned around and headed back to lucky seven. we turned into it and she kept walking and then freaked out on us again, for going into another shop.... then we went into barns and nobles. so we ((ryan and i)) went upstairs and looked at the relgion section adn she stomped off to where ever. then i bought a coffee and ryan and i stood by the door. then we went upstairs again and looked around because we were bored, and then sabrina went out side. but we didnt know that, we were just chillen by the door for another twenty min.

((sometimes at incagnito she said 'remind me never to ask you to do anything for me again'))

then sabrina began heading to the car. we stopped at farmers market... and headed out the doors. i gave ryan the keys to my car to open the front door and i thought sabrina was going to takle him. she was like, 'i called shotty on the way home' ryan said 'fine' and tossed me my keys because i needd to unlock the car. so ryan got in the car, and i hadnt gotten in the car yet, so sabrina threw ryans door open, and i already sat down and unlocked it. and she tried to unlock it....so she slammed the door, because it was unlocked, and she pissed ryan off so much for slaming the door shut, he pressed the lock down on her door and his. then she started beating on my car window. i swear i thought she was going to break it. she was like 'open the ****** door! and said many more obsenities...

then i was like, where it the fabreeze. -i spilt coffee in my car, so the coffee smell was starting to get to me so i was fabreezing my car- so i sprayed it and i was like. the seats are going to be wet, so ryan and i stood outside the car, and sabrina just kept having a cow because we werent leaving instantly.

then we drove to sallys. we walked in and ryan and i were talking. then i started looking at bleach. and i was like 'sabrina, i am not doing your hair. ill tell you what to get, but im not doing it.' she freaked out. 'you said you were doing my hair, thats why i came here, your wasting my time.' and ryan was trying to talk to me while sabrina was having a cow. so she flipped out on him. then she started grabbing my arm again, and said, were going this way. she grabbed my purse and my phone. and drug me to the end of the isle. and i was like, 'let go of me' im really soft spoken, but she was irrtating me. so i was getting louder as she was gripping my wrist tighter.

then she drug me outside. and had this meltdown because ryan was standing next to us. and then she was grabbing my sholders and started yelling at me' why are you doing this to me? why are you embarrsing me' and she was pulling me down because she was gripping my shoulders so hard. then she was finally stood up again. and i was like. 'sabrina relax and just talk to me' she was like 'no. tell him to move' i said 'im not telling ryan to move, he can stand there if he wanted to/ she was like 'do you want me to throw your phone?' and i was like 'go ahead' i could care less about my phone. i need a new one anyway, but still. she threw it and it busted into three pieces... and i was like.. 'ok. ryan call my parents' and he tried to, and she started grabbing at his phone.

finally this nice black woman walked out and stood next to me and said 'i really hate to se you two fight, are you sisters? or friends?' and sabrina was all ' this has nothing to do with you' i kind of smiled at the woman and patted her am and said, thank you for your concernt, im sorry..

so then i sent ryan in to by me bleach, because she was wasting my time freaking out. then she dragged me to my car, and was like 'why arent you helping me?' i was like 'how do you want me to help you?' she was like 'i dont know. you shoudl be a better friend, you should be trying to get me to relax. youll never understand how i feel' llama llama llama.. -im sick of typing drama..in need sleep *sigh-

then ryan finally came up and told me he spent 20 dollars on bleach O.O then she freaked out about him being near. so i asked him to sit in the car and roll down the windows. -i dont have air.- and she was all 'why does he have to roll down the windows' i wasnt about to stick him in my car, when it was this hot our without the windwos down...duh...

then we came home, she finally left. and ryan began the process of bleaching chunks in my hair. didnt work the first time. we stopped for diner which was amazing. mom made so many good things. she rocks. then we went back downstairs and we rebleached it again. it got a bit better.

then i dropped ryan off and finished my math homework. thanks to my moms help. woo.

so now...i need to go to bed...long day tomorrow.

Pray for me please..

God bless.

12:52PM - i take this time to thank you

today was absoutly. AMAZING. FANTASTIC. STELLAR.

lets see. i woke up strangly eairly at 11. ryan randomly Imed me and asked me to go to lakeside. then nikki called. well actually we have been planning off and on to hang out today for quite a few days, we just didnt know if it was going to go threw.

so i dhd the random chores, i needed to do. got dressed, took a shower, tossed on make up. called nikki and told her i was going to be picking her up soon. i stopped at the gas station adn got gas for a -cheap- price of 2.46 o.O. which took 15 min because it was a zoo.

so i picked nikki and then we were at ryans around one. we walked to 12 and schonner. waited for the bus. it was fun, i crocheted on the way to lakeside. we got there aroun 145-2ish. we went to FYE, Hot topic, Torrid, Spencers, Journeys, and then ate at olgas. amy met us up there. we got her food, then walked to the family christian store. i bought dad a book **since its his b-day tomorrow** and i got a bible tirva book. im excited :) um..

then amy drove us back to ryans. i dropped nikki off. then we went thrift store shopping. the only remotly coool thing ryan and i got was a swing dancing video. i need to find more guys who would learn to swing :P but right, then we went to the dollar store, i got sweet hair thingers, and im going to make some arm warmers out of trouser stockings, or what ever the heck they are called.

then we went to the coffee beanery. it was so wonderful to talk with her (lizzy), we talked about her trip with teen mania to panama. then we talked about how somtimes we as -freak's- get looked at strangly for dresing like we do and loving God. and we talked about, prayer, and geting invloved with our church this upcoming season. annnnnnnd reading the bible more.

amy and i deicded we need to have a set date where we are going to meet at the coffee beanery. were going to talk about what Gods been showing us and get deep in DA word :P. i know God will give us the perfect time. :) i cant wait.

so after i hung out with ryan for a bit and then i came home and started getting my crap ready for college. MURR COLLEGE.

i need to get up at 6 -_-. i hope the only class i need a book for is math :( because i dont have any of my books yet *SIGH*

oh yes... IM GOING TO MISS NIKKI...SHES LEAVING ME :( IM PRAYING FOR YOU <3

alright..im going to pretend like if i lay there long enough, ill sleep. LOL.

God bless and Gods peace.
